Sanjay Mehta heads MTC Group, a 47-year-old business group, with operations in the Middle East, Africa, India, Europe and Far East. He has been the President of Material Recycling Association of India (MRAI) for the last seven years.

MTC Group has business activities in trading of ferrous & non-ferrous scrap, ferro alloys, iron ore, and coking coals, manufacturing of steel billets, re bars, structural steel, aluminium alloy ingots & copper tubes. The Group is also into automobile dealerships. It is the largest ferrous scrap procurement, processing, recycling and steel manufacturing company in India having various scrap yards across India. The Director brings along a vast experience of more than 38 years in metal scrap recycling trade in India & international trade. Mehta has been handling the international business of MTC Group, which has offices in USA, UK, Singapore and Dubai. Mehta is a well-known figure and commands high respect in the domestic and international scrap market.

Initiatives and achievements

Under Mehta’s leadership, MTC undertook various CSR activities. He engaged professional consultancies namely KPMG and NOMURA on board, introduced SAP and switched from Tally to SAP in the organisation and implemented an incentive model for employees. Mehta is a recipient of various awards from different trade associations; achieved target topline; ventured into E-waste recycling, ELV recycling, plastic recycling; forayed into dismantling/demolition sector, undertaking medium & large sized demolition projects on turnkey basis; started manufacturing of aluminium ingots, copper tubes and ventured into TMT Bar manufacturing.
