Recycling industry calls for elimination of PSIC requirement as scrap imports face mounting disruption
Speaking to Waste & Recycling magazine, Ehsan Gadawala argues that the overseas inspection regime is impractical at the scale of India’s recycling trade and is creating unnecessary costs, delays and uncertainty for legitimate importers. India should instead conduct inspection and scanning at its own ports, he says.
