UAE has committed to reducing the solid waste by 75% by 2021, with Abu Dhabi committing to divert 85% of its solid waste from landfills and Dubai aiming to achieve a landmark target of 0% solid waste by 2030. The successful implementation of waste to energy (WTE) initiatives is going to be a major factor in ensuring these targets are met and companies like Bee’ah have already set a benchmark in the region by diverting 70% of waste from landfills to its recycling facilities, says the event organiser. WFES EcoWaste 2019 will showcase disruptive technologies and innovations that drive development in renewable energy and waste management.
