GMA Garnet Group (GMA) is a trusted global leader in industrial garnet and has been providing high quality garnet abrasives to the waterjet cutting and protective coating industries for over 35 years. GMA is the only global garnet suppliers to own the complete supply chain from source and processing for international distribution.

GMA owns mines and processing plants in Australia, Americas, and the Middle East and has invested significantly to expand the sources of supply and production capacity to incorporate alluvial, crushed, and recycled garnet.

In 1999, GMA launched in the Middle East with a facility in Dubai. Since then, the team has led the way as pioneers in the industry, promoting the use of garnet as an abrasive as opposed to slags. Today, GMA is the major garnet abrasive supplier across the GCC and Middle East region, exporting products into Europe and North America.

GMA Middle East markets and distributes our world class GMA Garnet, provides service support, and offers used garnet recovery services. In addition, we are recognized for our efforts in developing and promoting environmentally friendly used garnet disposal solutions in our regions

In 2003, GMA’s Dubai facility was developed into a fully integrated bulk handling and garnet processing plant, with a production capacity of 50,000 metric tonnes per annum. This upgrade included the construction of the largest bulk handling depot within the Jebel Ali Free Zone. From this facility GMA manufactures a wide range of garnet products, processes returned used garnet abrasives, and packages GMA products into a range of options to suit customer requirements.

RECENT ACCOMPLISHMENTS

GMA has expanded its environmentally-friendly products and solutions globally. It has provided the blasting industry a high performing substitute to Slag - which contaminates the environment and creates disposal issues for the Middle East. GMA recognizes the environmental impact of Slags, and as a result, developed solutions in the market to assist clients reduce their carbon footprint, while offering effective recycling solutions and reducing disposal to government landfills. Recently, GMA Middle East achieved the following ISO certifications for Middle East operations: ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management, ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems, and ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems. GMAME continues to expand its Recycling operations to Abu Dhabi region to enhance future Environment Sustainability plans.

NEW YEAR, NEW GOALS

In 2023, GMA will

  • Invest in a pre-treatment plant in Abu Dhabi to provide efficient recycling of non renewable resource, garnet.
  • Secure assistance from Tadweer to ensure all garnet waste is treated and recycled and to reduce disposal at Government landfills.
  • Educate used garnet generators to promote recycling in Abu Dhabi.
  • Reduce the burden on landfills to assist in ensuring a sustainable future for the Middle East and global communities.
