
Kamlesh Jain is the Chairman of Jain Metal group. Jain Metal Group is a highly innovative industrial group and one of the leading importers, exporters and recyclers of non-ferrous metal and scrap in India. The group was established in 1946 by his grandfather and later witnessed rapid growth under the able leadership of Kamlesh in the late 90s, when he entered the business. Jain Metal group was traditionally into copper flat rolled products. Over the past 15 years, the group has diversified into four verticals viz. Recycled Copper Products, Lead, Lead Alloy Ingots, Reprocessed Plastic Products and Aluminum Alloys.
The group has registered a CAGR of over 30 per cent over the past 10 years. The present group’s annual turnover is about US$ 500 million. The group is one of the largest exporters of metals with China, USA, Korea and Japan, being the main destinations of exports. It is working on overseas expansions in lead, copper and aluminum products.
Kamlesh is a well-known name in the non-ferrous metal business domain – domestically and internationally. His experience has been versatile including in trading, manufacturing, and real estate.
Mayank Pareek has more than 25 years of experience in the non-ferrous metal recycling domain. He set up many recycling projects for aluminum, copper and lead in India. He is credited with introducing the concept of supplying die cast aluminium alloys in hot molten form to the customers. He set up and later ran the first molten aluminium supply plant in India in 2008 at Haridwar. During his career, he brought in the country many latest technological developments related to energy efficiency, metal recovery, efficient emission control, low cost and sophisticated automation in the metal recycling industry.
In 2018, he joined Jain Metal Group as a partner. He grew the business of the group aggressively by setting up an insulated wire recycling plant, plastic recycling plant and aluminium alloy making plant and by modernising and expanding lead recycling plant.
In the past, he has been on the board of non-ferrous metal recycling companies viz. CMR, CMR-Toyotsu, CMR-Nikkei and Fervent Global.
Initiatives and notable achievements
In the year 2014, Jain Metal group established a lead smelting cum refining plant in Gummidipoondi near Chennai. The business rapidly grew and currently, the plant has an annual capacity of 10,000 of refined and alloy lead ingots. The plant is one of the largest lead secondary refineries in India.
The group installed India’s first automated large scale insulated copper wire/ cable recycling plant in the year 2018. The plant produces high quality of copper raw material, which are mostly exported to China and ASEAN countries and also cater to domestic markets in India. The group installed a plastic recycling plant in the year 2019 to integrate processing of scrap generated from recycling of lead acid battery scrap and cable scrap. The group installed an ultra-modern automatic scrap battery breaking plant with capacity of 15mt per hour in 2021. In 2022, the group installed an Aluminum plant to make die cast alloy from aluminium scrap. Today, Jain Metal group is the most diversified business houses in the recycling domain in India with facilities to process lead, copper, aluminum and plastics.
