In the recently concluded EcoWaste Exhibition and Forum 2023 in Abu Dhabi, Al Masaood Commercial Vehicles and Equipment (CV&E) showcased the latest environmentally-friendly trucks from global brands UD Trucks and Renault Trucks that offer sustainable waste management solutions. The division, which is part of Al Masaood Group, is the sole distributor of UD Trucks and Renault Trucks in Abu Dhabi.

The division showcased Renault Trucks K480 Euro 5 Evolution with Optidriver Gearbox. Renault Trucks’ K-Range Tractor Head 6x4, is a Euro 5 Enhanced Environmentally friendly Vehicle (EEV), producing engine power of 480 HP with a high efficiency of fuel consumption for vehicles operating on tough road conditions.

Consistent effort

Speaking to the Waste & Recycling MEA magazine, Mr. Zeftawi said the new fleet of Renault Trucks ranging from 18 tonnes to 40 tonnes will significantly contribute to the waste management initiatives in Abu Dhabi. Sporting applications such as hook loaders, hook loaders with cranes, side compactors and rear compactors, these trucks will soon be deployed on Abu Dhabi roads as part of Al Masaood CV&E’s partnership with Abu Dhabi Waste Management Centre (Tadweer). “The consistent effort to improve fuel efficiency, thereby offering eco-friendly solutions, is evident from this range,” he said.

In the year 2023, the division gears up to introduce Renault Trucks fully electric vehicles, the first of its kind in the Middle East and Africa region. He said, “This is an important milestone for us. The trucks are expected to serve the growing waste collection demands of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi through Tadweer by April.”

Al Masaood CV&E also displayed UD Trucks’ flagship MD Croner model, PKE 19T chassis equipped with 16 CBM Compactors. UD Trucks Croner PKE has the latest UD Trucks 250 hp EURO 5 compliant engine with SCR technology generating high torque of 950Nm, coupled with fully automatic transmission with push button gear selector and is also equipped with an advanced body builder module control unit. With these advanced and unique specifications, UD Trucks aims to lift the productivity level in waste management from MD Trucks.

The division will also be providing the full range of UD Trucks Quester and Croner in the market with Euro 5 emissions, Automatic transmission, and latest advance driver display, among many other advanced features available for the full range of trucks.

UD Trucks has been awarded by Tadweer to deliver about 291 units in all sizes, including medium and heavy, in the new range. Talking about the UD Trucks fleet’s special features, Mr.Zeftawi said the fully automatic transmission in the UD Trucks Croner PKE range offers the operators better control, mobilisation, durability, comfort and performance. “The Euro 5 emissions feature is not only environmentally friendly, but also helps operators save on fuel consumption.” Al Masaood Commercial Vehicles & Equipment Division provides sales and aftersales for an extensive range of franchises.
